Rough Week

It’s been a hard week. Corinne has been gone since Tuesday and I’ve been bored and lonely most of the week. It’s hard when she’s not around. We don’t have TV at the house, and I’m flat broke with no money to do anything. I went to dinner with my boss the other night and when he asked me to go, I expected him to pay. I ended up paying and then he paid me for his part. If I had known I had to pay anything at all, I wouldn’t have went. I took a pay-cut coming here and things are VERY tight right now. So, we keep on trudging on.

Headed to St. George this weekend for my sister-in-law’s wedding. Frankly, I don’t even want to go. I do have a relationship to carry on with the in-laws though so I must do my familial duty. Once again though, we’re broke and I don’t now HOW on earth we’re going to get back. I have just enough money to get John and I down there, but none to come back on. Hopefully the in-laws can help us out there.

Father’s Day

Corinne and the baby woke me up today with a plate of hot orange rolls. I kind of forgot that it was Father’s Day right at first, but I remembered very quickly. When I was done eating my rolls, Corinne and Milaena sang me a Father’s Day song; it was so great.

This is my first "real" Father’s Day and it’s been fun so far. We’ll be going to my parent’s house later to celebrate there with dinner and that will be a lot of fun. We’ll have three generations of fathers there. I have to say that being a father is one of the greatest things that a man could do in life. Seeing my child grow up is truly an unparalleled experience.

Corinne just came in with my Father’s Day card. she gave it to Milaena and that little stinker brought it right over to me. When Corinne says "go get Daddy" she knows right where to go. This morning when Corinne said that, Milaena walked right to our room, pounded on the door ’till it came open, and then came in and hit the bed. It’s amazing how fast she learns. Nothing can beat being a Dad.

Screw The Left

While our leftist liberal political lackey, Michael Moore, is setting up to tout his VERY slanderous and, in my opinion, nearly treasonous new anti-Bush film, I find myself getting more and more riled up against his team. While John Kerry is out on the campaign trail giving two different answers to each question posed to him, I find myself wanting more and more to do as I can to change the political landscape of this country. Were I not endowed with a lovely wife and child, I would honestly join the Armed Forces and travel afar to finish what these cowardly muslims started.

I look around me daily and see people who are so self-obsessed that they have no idea what is going on in the world around them. They’re worried about what kind of shoes to buy, while their old schoolmate is being beheaded in the Middle East. People are holding Air Guitar championships for no-talent wannabes while their neighbor is fighting to make sure that we’re all not all exposed to a dirty bomb or that we don’t fall victim to a poisoned water supply. I feel like smacking people in the head and telling them to clue in.

As I sit here in my Living Room, I look around to see the things that I have worked so hard for. I see these things as a result of the freedoms that I enjoy in this country. Then, I pick up the paper or log on to any news site and I’m constantly reminded about how there are people in this world who are willing — NAY, who want — to take my life because of these freedoms. It makes me shudder. Why is it that we’re so worried about protecting the lives and well-beings of these terrorists when they would slit our very throats if were to only turn our backs to them? Why is it that the liberal media and the leftist pigs in Washington bark and whine about our violation of the Geneva convention while making absolutely NO mention of the fact that these Muslim terrorists who, being bound to the same decree, are violating it as well? While I know that bombing the Middle East is not the solution, something must be done. Frankly, ANY religion that condones the slitting of the "infidels" throats need not be tolerated. Additionally, religions who preach tolerance need to wake up and realize that these things simply cannot be tolerated. Are we to sit idly by whilst our enemy creeps across our borders to slit our throats as we slumber? I think not.

The time for action is now. The time to close the borders is NOW. Let the country work its "shortage" of workers out when the time comes; the Arabs must NOT be allowed into the country and the flow of illegals from the Southern border must stop. The argument cannot be made any longer that our country was built on the backs of its immigrants. This country was also built on the backs of Africans who were sold into slavery — many by their own people — but that practice has certainly stopped. There was a time when immigration was beneficial — even necessary — for this country. That time has now passed. Immigrants pose a greater risk to our security and our way of live now more than ever. Being that there is no way to surely stop these people, they must all be stopped before they are ever allowed to start.

Anniversary

Today is our third anniversary. It’s hard to believe that we’ve been married for that long. Tonight we’ll be eating at the Olive Garden (we eat there every year because it was where we at dinner at on our wedding night) and then going to the drive-in movies. Unfortunately, we won’t have anyone to watch the baby, but that’s okay.

It amazes me when I think of how fast things have gone by. I mean, we have a kid now, I’m done with two years of school, and we’re not living in St. George any longer. Really, it’s quite neat. I’m so blessed to have my wife in my life. She is truly wonderful and I’m glad that I married her.

AirShow

USAF Thunderbirds

John and I went to the Hill Field Air Show yesterday and all I can say is “Awesome!”. It was truly a sight to behold. While he and I both got baked (I really need to be careful, I’ll probably get cancer someday) it was great fun. Of course, the most awesome part was seeing the USAF Thunderbirds (yes, I took that picture on the right). They were absolutely amazing! Their show was soooo cool and it was total reminder of all of the brave men and women who fight defending our country. I mean, I can see these planes overhead, coming in to land, but seeing them up close, in real life and in action really drives that point home. To see the technology in person is mind-boggling. It’s amazing what we, as a species, are capable of. It truly is a great time to be alive.
