Our son will be known as Mason Jared Ferguson. Enough said.

I posted some pics of the boy tonight. We haven’t named him yet, and may take a while to do so. I’ve been up for about 40 hours, so I’m going to bed. Trust me when I say, we’re both completely worked; Corinne obviously more than I. It’s been an extremely long day, but I thought it was important to get these pictures posted for the family to check out.
Our son came into the world at 4:21 PM today. It was an amazing experience. Corinne was actually pushing for only about 45 minutes. She did amazingly well for her first delivery. I’m so proud of her. She didn’t require an episiotamy and only required a few stiches. I was able to get the whole thing on film and I was also able to cut his umbilical cord.
Here are his stats: 8 lbs. 1 oz. 21“ long. He has some brown hair (we thought at first it might be red) and looks EXACLY like his daddy did wen he was born.
This experience was so much more relaxing than was Milaena’s birth. Mostly on account of the fact that he was brought into the world normally, instead of via C-Section. It was so much less hectic. I didn’t need to get dressed up in sterile clothing or anything and it was amazing. The experience was mind-blowing.
Shortly after his birth, he was give to Corinne and was nursing soon thereafter. Apparently, he’s got quite a sucker. I took him to the nursery and bathed him at about 8:00. My mother was able to come in and film that, which was completely amazing. He’s so beautiful.
I came home and am now getting ready for bed. Gonna post a few pics in a minute. It’s been a very long, albeit joyous, day. Hey, we got our tax credit!
So…we didn’t sleep a wink last night. Okay, so I got a few catnaps in. Corinne started having contractions at almost exactly midnight. Soon after, I was rubbing her back in bed. It seems that 4:00 to 6:00 flew by and Corinne took a bath to get ready for the hospital. John showed up just after 6:00 and we gave Corinne a blessing. My mother showed up about an hour after that to pick up Milaena and we were on our way.
We arrived at the hospital at about 7:30 where Corinne was admitted immediately. Things have gotten quite well underway. Her contractions have been steady and a quick ultrasound has shown the baby to be head-down; certainly good news.
Corinne decided to have an epidural, which was administered at about 10:30 and we were catnapping quickly thereafter. I got up at about 1:00 to grab a turkey sandwich from the cafeteria. We again napped for a bit. Though this post won’t go out for a while, it is now quarter of three and the nurse just headed into the room to start prepping for delivery. I’ll certainly update as more details come available.
It’s a day for ranting, yes? Yeah…there’s been a LOT of talk over the last few days about the NSA placing cookies on web browsers’ machines. Frankly, I don’t see what the big deal is. It’s an internal policy that the webmaster forgot to address when he/she/they rolled out new software for the website. Default settings are more likely at fault than a conspiracy. Certainly the media circus is making this situation into a bigger issue than it really is. Cookies AREN’T illegal folks, it’s a government policy from the OMB, NOT a law!
Would it even be useful for administrators or investigators to know if a computer browsing the NSA website from an IP Address terrorist-harboring country was soon-after browsing from a US-based IP? Hardly. I certainly revel in the general public’s lack of understanding. Spyware poses more danger than this, but you don’t see liberals whining about that too much, eh? It astounds me that, even still, cookies remain objects of mystery and danger, when in fact most users wouldn’t have the same Internet experience without them. The ONLY reason this is getting any attention at all is because of Bush’s recent wiretapping revelations (which, BTW, are completely within his implied powers, but that’s another issue altogether). Morons.
