How Puzzling

My daughter just finished her first 100-piece jigsaw puzzle all by herself. Her pediatrician was the first to clue us in to her AMAZING attention span. The puzzle took her just over an hour to finish. She’s three-and-a-half now. Enough said. Pictures soon.

Good Gouda

So, I’m not much of a cheese person, but this weekend, my palette was expanded. I traveled to St. George to be with my wife and kids (who have been gone since the Sunday before last) and during our Thanksgiving hors devours, tasted something that lit my tongue up. What was it you ask? Smoked Gouda cheese. Smoked Gouda Cheese on Olive Oil and Rosemary Wheat Thins to be exact. As I write this post, that taste lingers in my mouth as I just indulged once again.

As I Google the new delicacy, I find some interesting possibilities for recipes. Smoked Gouda mashed potatoes and baked macaroni with Smoked Gouda are two that caught my eye instantly. Needless to say, I’m antsy to get back home and give a few of these a try, but I think I’ll start with a half pound of the stuff and a few more types of crackers to really dial in the tastiness.

What To Do?

Well, I’m really debating with myself about what to do with this site. I’ve had it up for so long that I’m hesitant to take it down, but I’ve not been updating it like I should and haven’t found much time to keep things up to date. Of course, that’s simply because I’m being lazy. I currently have two blogs plus my resume site. I’m thinking of pulling them all together again, but…I’m not sure. Sheesh. I really like to complicate my life. Perhaps I’ll work on it a bit over the holiday. Speaking of which, I hope you enjoy yours.

I Live Near A Universal Anomaly

My local grocery store must be centered across a lay line or some other mysterious phenomenon. You see, every time I go to to this particular store, I am approached by someone who tells me that their car has run out of gas and they are desperately trying to get home. It’s so strange, it seems everyone runs out of gas right close to my neighborhood grocery store.

Of course, I don’t ever give money to beggars. Knowing I am a budding social worker, some of you may find this odd. Let me clarify. I will buy dinner for a homeless person. I will even give someone a ride if necessary. I won’t give money though. I’m very tired of being asked for gas money, so I’ve resorted to telling “stranded travelers” that I would gladly give them a ride to the Road Home (a local homeless shelter) and there they will find someone who is willing to get them a ride home (pending verification of residence and employment of course). Of course, no one has take me up on this offer yet which tells me gas isn’t what they really want. I guess the begging must get folks somewhere though, since they still keep on doing it. I just wish they would move away from the grocery store.
