So, Milaena went to her school today for her “assessment.” When she was done, Corinne asked her teacher how she did. The response? “Okay.” She must be high or the school’s tools measure intelligence in a funny way. What child do you know that has the patience to do a 100-piece puzzle in one sitting at the age of four or who memorizes whole books word-for-word at three? Not many I know, that’s for sure. Okay my butt.

It came and went without so much as a whimper. As a matter of fact, it didn’t even hit me until I was half-way through my Trax ride home last night; school is done…finally. My seminar (which actually turned out to be more of a “class” than it was billed to be) is over and this is the last week of my internship. The summer has flown by and I feel as if I haven’t even enjoyed it, but I have a month or so left, so we’ll see if any of it can be salvaged.
So, for now, good bye University of Utah. It was real, it was fun, but it wasn’t real fun.
Vote Democrat, Libertarian, Independent, whatever, but please…don’t vote for John McCain!
In case you missed the news, McCain recently adopted Obama’s 16 month “timetable” as a “good idea” for troop removal from Iraq. Mr. McCain’s senselessness never ceases to amaze me. I guess he should have had a que card this time around like when he was in the grocery store this last week (hey, at least the old hack got the price of milk right).
Here’s a link for that one: McCain Embraces 16-Month Withdrawal: “I Think It’s A Pretty Good Timetable”
Finally, the best comment I’ve read in a long time, 1st in the latter article:
Doublespeak:
Up is down.
Right is wrong.
Timetables bad; timetables good.
Oceania was always at war with Eurasia.
People often say that you parent as you are parented. To some degree, I agree with this. It’s also common knowledge that most parents indocrinate their children into their belief systems. Hence, at the time when I became interested in politics, I looked to my father for guidance. He is a fairly conservative guy and a fan of Faux News. As such, I began to watch Fox and did so for years, until I began to see that, in fact, they are not “fair and balanced.” Unfortunately for Fox fans, this pretty much puts the nail in the coffin for the network’s reputation. Check it out:
Thanks Greg!
