Day 12

Temperature: 32°F
Distance: 7.5 Miles
Time: 32 minutes
Road Conditions: Wet/Icy
Number of honks: 0
Number of cautious drivers: nearly every one

Wow, great ride. great ride. Got smart tonight. Balaclava? Check. Booties? Check. Thick wool socks? Check. Everything else from last night? Check. It was quiet and the bike seemed to be riding really well. I need some more appropriate tires (a knobby 30c cyclocross tire should work), clear glasses, and a better light. That’s it. I’m almost ready for a winter full of riding the bike.

  • That’s awesome. I’m thinking about going the opposite direction and retiring for the winter. My St. Georgian blood isn’t acclimating to the arctic conditions.

  • I’m calling BS on that one man. Your hypothalamus has surely began the process of seasonal thermal regulation. Challenge yourself, do something different. :)
